During the busy bustle of life and college semesters, students often neglect their wellness and basic needs. Unfortunately, this is a reality for many college students across the globe. While school is in session, the personal life of a student still continues. For some, this can mean personal challenges arising and impacting them in difficult ways. Students may struggle with personal situations and challenges such as housing, mental and physical health, hunger, financial troubles, and many other challenges. These situations affect the personal and academic qualities of student life. Some students may find it difficult to navigate their challenges while taking on the pressure of academic studies. Nowadays, it is so easy for students to prioritize and get lost in their responsibilities, while simultaneously neglecting their basic needs. The PCCC Wellness Center recognizes these stressors and offers various resources to support students here on the main campus. There are plenty of ways that students can take advantage of the resources offered at the Wellness Center. These resources and support services include information on food pantries, emergency housing, rental/mortgage assistance, legal services, medical resources, counseling support, financial counseling, and childcare resources.
Some students may not be able to take advantage of the resources at the Wellness Center due to scheduling conflicts. Sometimes, students may be in class or at work and struggle to take advantage of the wellness center’s operating hours. Fortunately, the Wellness Center can guide students toward the right direction and assist them in finding resources catered to their availability and needs. It can be difficult for individuals to find resources on their own. Many students are not aware of opportunities and resources that they may qualify for, this is where the Wellness center can help and swiftly guide students toward the right direction. A referral from the Wellness Center may allow students quicker access to resources. The Wellness Center has access to information about various non-profit organizations along with a variety of organizations outside of campus that offer support for Passaic County residents. As a PCCC student, you may be eligible for these resources, programs, and more. Resources such as enrichment programs, supplemental aid, mental health clinics, and more! You are not alone; the Wellness Center is proud to provide you with support and assistance here on campus.
