"The Night of Memories": A Poem by Jeffrey Bellido

The big Eclipse stalks me at night

As the wind pushes me like a fight

Darkness I only see

Around me are trees and leaves

No light or sounds

Big coat and small hands

Friends are gone and lost with hope,

Wasted time watching the picture burn away.

Night darkens all over street;

I remember a bright day with all my friends.

A night covered up the good days.

I miss when the sun used to rise,

When everything was colorful and shiny.

Missing the ones that were laughing and playing games after school.

Looking at the sky hurts.

The eclipse isn’t fully finished;

The night is still going,

My life is half away to see more nights.
