On Wednesday, March 27, the Pride Club had its first official meeting! In the meeting, we all introduced ourselves with our names and pronouns and the staff explained the different roles that would take place and who would have them. We all voted for who should be who, these roles being secretary, who keeps track of what goes on in meetings and reports, two vice presidents, the president, and a treasurer.
The goal of the club is to bring awareness about the LGBTQ community to PCCC, to help educate about the issues we face within the community and the changes that should be brought forward. They want to provide a safe space for everyone to come together and have a good time. Anyone is welcome to join.
Overall, the club creates a respectful environment and is helpful to those who are struggling with their identity. The club shows that we are there for one another and to help bring a positive change not only within the school but outside as well. Most importantly. we are accepting of everyone no matter their sexual orientation/identity.
